Norris Square Park

It was NSNP's vision and perseverance with the Norris Square community that have transformed Norris Square Park from a drug-infested, crime-ridden area into the safe beauty spot it is today and turned dozens of trash-filled lots into lovely flower and vegetable gardens. In September 1993, Philadelphia Green dedicated Norris Square as their seventh Greene Countrie Towne and the Escandalo celebration marked this accomplishment. Philadelphia Green provided years of intensive support, advice and resources and provides NSNP with assistance still. A grant from the William Penn Foundation has made numerous park improvements possible, including our tranquil pavilion area. A new playground was constructed in the center of the park in the spring of 1996, with the help of over 200 volunteers.

NSNP uses Norris Square Park daily for outdoor activities and games.
